“DON’T Do it!”

She cautioned.

My sister Wendy called last night as we both were watching NBC's “The Biggest Loser" and. . .

Rulon, who is still 300+ lbs., had just been “encouraged” by Bob to do a handstand and after several failed, awkward attempts, he succeeded. . .

“I want to try to do one!” I shared with her.

After hanging up, against Wendy's sound advice, but being smart enough to have my cell phone nearby, I gave the handstand a shot.

For the record, hurling yourself toward the floor while attempting to fling your legs over a 50+ year old body is not, by any stretch of the imagination, EASY.

My first attempt was thisclose to disastrous as the palms of my drier-than-dry winter hands slipped on the pounded-almost-smooth-cheap carpeting of my bedroom.

Then, after licking both palms (I know gross) to assure no slippage, attempt number two was nearly fatal.

When Wendy answered her phone for our second conversation of the night – I said ...

“The next time we are together I want you to help me do a handstand. I have decided that it might not be the best thing for me to do tonight while I am home alone!”

with a broken neck it can be hard to reach the phone

"Frank...

I was referred to you regarding the BATAVIA Republican newspaper that generously is bestowed upon me each week FOR FREE!

I wanted to let you know that I enjoy reading it because I have a sister who lives in GENEVA!?!?!?

If I can alert you to some great going-ons in Batavia would that be okay??

please just say"

was my email to a reporter I was referred to after noticing for years that the BATAVIA Republican newspaper consisted mostly of articles about Geneva and St. Charles, which always had me wondering why?

I decided this week to do some "investigating" and after a phone call to the paper, a referral to Frank, a reporter, and the above email being sent. . .

Frank responded:

"Hi Susan,

Yes. That would be great if you can send me any Batavia happenings you believe would be of interest. My former editor had only wanted no more than one Batavia story a week, but my new editor seems open to more Batavia stories.

Thank you for your email."

Now isn't that kind of crazy, that his "former editor" wanted no more than ONE Batavia story each week in the BATAVIA Republican??

So, Batavia citizens, let's keep Frank well aware of what is happening in our wonderful City by emailing him at fvaisvilas@mysuburbanlife.com and giving him notification.

batavia republican might actually have batavia information

“Do you have a website?”

i inquired, loving his work, but having nothing "extra" at the end of a pay period these days.

"My Mom is working on one for me." he responded.

His name is Michael David and he was creating/selling awesome artwork on Michigan Avenue on this beautiful Spring Friday.

I NEED...

to own one of his pieces.

Which if you know me, you know that means...

LFMTF Sunshine Edition…

Today’s Friday lunch walk was filled with beautiful sunshine.

Which had the Trump Tower ablaze…

attracting my snippets' camera's gaze.

I got to view tomatoes in a trunk...

prettier than a bunch of junk.

I also found new-to-me sticker art of a house of yellow...

placed there by a gal or a fellow.

In addition while walking past the Merchandise Mart...

I saw that on Mr. Montgomery’s head the birds did shart.

While wandering in the basement of Macy’s (Marshall Field’s!) the Easter Frango’s were stacked up high...

I wanted to eat them all why oh why!

And finally a shopping cart filled with someone’s life...

wondering if they have more or less strife.
