A change...

is a coming.

Having been thru more-than-I-care-to-number winters here in Chicago, I know when it is around the corner.

We go from no-jackets-required-weather to gloves-hats-heavy-coats-demanded-weather.

This morning's strong, brisk winds were my reminder....

in addition to the putting up of the little white holiday lights.....

in the trees along the river.

makes me shiver

Shiver??? It's so darn cold out there, if I had a set of cha-chas they'd be the size of marbles!!! And can you believe the weather man this morning claims it's suppose to warm up to 60 by this afternoon. I think he added a little to much special sauce to his coffee this morning; probably in hopes of keeping his cha-chas warm.

It's actually cold here today, which is a huge shock to our humidity/heat acclimated bodies. :)

I love holiday lights...and big cities. I haven't been to Chicago in 10 years. I went to the Blackhawks vs the Red Wings on Saturday....and had FRONT ROW seats to Wrestlemania on Sunday.

Can't beat that...Eh?...Susie?

I hear you! I live in the far NW suburbs, and when I commuted downtown, it was 2 hours one way. 10 minute drive to the train, hour train ride (express!), then either a 20 minute walk, 10 minute boat taxi to Michigan Avenue, THEN a four block walk!

And I didn't like the fact that I was blocks away from American Girl store and everyone in my family wanted me to buy stuff for them!

I just have memories of walking through driving snow to the train station - I don't envy you at all!

Hopefully your commute wasn't as long as mine was! I could only do it for six months.

Now I have a short 15 minute drive and I am at work!

Hang in there! It only gets worse from here. . .
