I finally found...

"Stupid telephone lines!"

I thought as I took the picture.

It turns out that I like them in the shot...

they cut across at just the right place - separating the midwestern corn and the puffy cloud in a perfect summer Sunday sky!!

Just for fun...

1. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

2. Just how are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

3. Was learning cursive really necessary?

4. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

5. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

6. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

7. Bad decisions make good stories.

8. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

9. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

10. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to the ten-page pleading that I swear I did not make any changes to.

11. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

12. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

13. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

14. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

15. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

16. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants rarely get dirty, and you can wear them a long time between washings.

17. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

18. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and pinning a tail on a donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

19. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. (Women reading this just smiled!)

That is all I have for today!!

I was born a May.

I saw a cooler by...

the railroad track.

In case you have a picnic attack?

Any food left in there might make you yak!

Beer comes in a six or twelve pack.

A cooler by the railroad track.

Three crows...

on a wire;

I wonder if from flappin' their wings they ever tire?

Some years back they were hardly around...

now everywhere they can be again found!

Three crows on a wire this morning I saw.

Fighting while squawking their "caw-caw-caw!"

Three crows on a wire!

This morning. . .

I found a single leaf on the top of my car;

Looking to be discovered like an unknown future superstar;

From my maple tree it had to fall far;

This morning I found a single leaf on the top of my car!

Celebrating...

after nearly two years of gnashing teeth, butting heads and going round and round...

my front porch finally passed inspection!!

no more rails-too-far-apart-and-need-a-graspable-handrail rejection

Hot Time. . .Summer in the City!!

I love summer in Chicago, there are so many things to do. . .

and as you might know from this post, I love the Farmer's Market at Daley Plaza. . .every Thursday you can find beautiful produce. . .

and flowers to buy. . .

along with the occasional gaggle of children being led around. . .

outdoor cafes. . .

and water fountains. . .

lunch time food trucks full of treats, some of which are sweet...

and I have noticed that I am not the only one who loves summer in the city, I quite often see groups of guys, sitting outside eating their lunch, nourishing their bodies, while conversing amongst themselves and watching the world go by...

glad that they too can enjoy this weather...

whatever!
